Would like to Visit Montana?

I would like to visit Montana for a week on a budget, can anyone give me any tips. ie. where to go in Montana to get away from everyday life etc. I don’t drive, would that be a problem? Any suggestion would be welcome, thanks!

Glacier will be your best bet as they have the red buses that escort people around, but it’s truly a serene and beautiful place, you can also go by boat to the peace parks area so if you stick with a tour you should be able to skirt the no driving thing easily enough!

And yes, there are cowboys here, as well as first people (Native Americans) there are teepees and horse backrides too. I just have to giggle at the poster who said that . Too bad the pony express quit running years ago

I also believe there is a shuttle from the airport to the lodges! or you can go by train!

how many trout? brain teaser answer?

Bill Henderson who finds fishing the ultimate sport when relaxing, had the good fortune to inherit some beautiful property in Montana, which included the state’s fourth largest lake. The only problem was that the lake had been fished out, (i.e. a trout population of zero) and needed to be restocked. But Bill had a plan: he would buy 200 mature trout, and wait until the population was large enough to support 20 fishermen catching a limit of five fish every day.

Bill’s brother, who was a marine biologist, told him he could expect the trout population to double every six months. Calculate how long Bill will have to wait before he can open his lake up to fishermen, assuming Bill wants the trout population to stay constant once the fishing begins. Also, at the same time fishing begins, how many trout will be in the lake?

Know any good vacation spots in Montana??

Looking for a new place to vacation, know any good ones in Montana?

I lived in Montana for a long time, and there’s lots to do. I’m assuming you’re going in the summer. A few must sees are:
Glacier Park.
Flathead Lake
Yellowstone Park
The capital city – Helena.
Gates of the Mountain
Virginia City
Custer Battlefield
It depends on what you like to do, of course. The state of Mt. website ought to have tourist info. or a link. Montana is a huge state, so plan ahead be prepared to drive! It’s all very, very, beautiful. Enjoy!

Where are good places to visit in Montana?

I am going to be 45 minutes away from Yellowstone, and I’ve been ther. But, I want to know other places to go,and things to do. Thanks in advance.
If you have time, about 8 hours north of Billings is Glacier National Park which is near Whitefish/Kalispell. Whitefish has some of the best skiing in the U.S. Gorgeous area up there.
