The Crying Indian – full commercial – Keep America Beautiful

January 29th, 2010 . by AB Kinney

Earth Day, the annual day of environmental action and awareness, was first held on April 22, 1970. This past April 22nd, we finally ventured into the woods behind our house and pulled 4 putrid truck tires/mosquito farms out of the mud, along with about 200 pounds of scrap metal, engine parts, and farm equipment. The place used to be a dairy farm, and I guess “out of sight” was “out of mind”. If it were still the 70’s, cleaning up the woods would have been “outta sight” in a whole different way.

Here’s a clip of The Crying Indian from the early 70’s. OK, so Chief Iron Eyes Cody wasn’t a real Native American after all. That didn’t stop the ad campaign from having a tremendous effect back then. And it’s no less relevant today.

What would happen if Yellowstone National Park erupted?

January 21st, 2010 . by AB Kinney

I am doing a class project and i need to know what would happen if yellowstone national park erupted.

Nothing good.

There are two parts to the question. What would the impact be to the environment and what would it be to the human population?

Take a look at the Mount St. Helens eruption in 1980. About 72 people died in the actual event so the human toll was relatively small. The changes to the landscape were dramatic. What was once a pristine, snow-covered mountain in a forest was now a smoking caldera surrounded by ash fields and dead trees. Since that time it’s been amazing to watch how the flora and fauna have begun to recover and regrow in the area.

The effects of an eruption in Yellowstone would depend on the size. There is a lot of evidence that a super-volcano exists there. If the dome on top of that magma source were to collapse it would effectively mean the end of the world, at least our part in it. The amount of ash released would block out the sun around the world for months if not years ruining global crops and plunging humanity into a food crisis that would wipe out most of us. Also, the temperature would be lowered leading to longer and harsher winters making it impossible to raise livestock or grow anything in what little sun was left. Sorry to be a downer.

If a more ‘normal’ volcano went off. The effects would be more local and probably look very much like Mount St. Helens did.

Latin American Indians

November 25th, 2009 . by AB Kinney

Meanwhile in Brazil, Paraguay, Argentina, Uruguay …. Politicians practice cannibalism against the indigenous population Killing the indigenous population by asphyxiation food Denying them the most sacred The Food! Perhaps not too late for America to stop being burned by global warming. The death of thousands of innocent people! Who ever heard of banning food just because the indigenous population is claiming their rights? You do not need a hidden camera To shoot a slow death and lethal of the indigenous population in Brazil and other Latin American countries ‘being stripped of their skin all still alive, They say it is to allow a clean cut This is a total ethnic cleansing, Without a trace, after the carcasses are thrown into cells still alive to live in agony preferred to commit suicide by hanging or ingestion of poison. In recent years the jejuvy (hanging) spreads through the villages on an epidemic scale, about 50 suicides per year involving young people from 9 to 14 years of age. And for about 10 minutes heart beats and flashing eyes and hands of the Indians tremble. He raises his head and bloodshot eyes fixed straight to their executioners. Then you know the end ….
