Is it necessary to fly fish for trout out in Montana, or would casting spinners aslo be effective?

Spinners do great on wild trout in Wyoming, so I would take them to Montana and expect to catch fish.

I’ve never caught any trout on anything but power bait, salmon eggs or nightcrawlers. I have an array of spinners, spoons and lures of all types and sizes and have never known a fish to give one a second look. Once I caught a tiny bass on a spinner. A green trout, I couldn’t believe it!
